What Tempburn Does
Tempburn creates a short-lived email address that can receive messages. Use it for a low-risk, one-time signup or a small test that needs a real inbound email. Copy the address, return to this browser to read the message, and discard the inbox when the task is done.
The inbox is tied to a private browser session. Knowing an address does not let someone else read its messages.
Who It Is For
Tempburn is intended for people who need temporary access to a message, and developers who need a small number of real addresses for basic testing.
- One-off signups where a temporary address is permitted.
- Low-risk verification and notification checks.
- Manual testing of inbound email in a system you control.
What It Does Not Do
Tempburn only receives email. It does not send, reply, forward, or recover messages after access expires. It is not an encrypted mailbox or a way to avoid a website’s own rules.
- Do not use it for banking, healthcare, account recovery, or a long-term account.
- Some sites block temporary addresses or may delay their own messages.
- Messages are displayed as plain text. Attachments and remote images are not opened.
How the Service Is Designed
The product is built around short retention, browser-held access, plain-text reading, and a visible delete action. Messages stop being available when the inbox expires or you discard it. Online cleanup follows after access is revoked.
These controls reduce exposure but do not make the service end-to-end encrypted or guarantee immediate removal from provider backups.
