What Is a Burner Email Address?

A burner address is a temporary email address you can use when a task needs one incoming message, but you do not want to use your everyday inbox. Tempburn receives messages for a short-lived address and shows them in the browser session that created it.

The address is not a separate personal mailbox. It expires after eight days, and the messages expire with it. Use a regular email account whenever you need a dependable, long-term way to sign in or recover an account.

A Simple Inbox for Short-Term Tasks

Get an address, copy it into a service that permits temporary email, then return here to read an incoming message. There is no Tempburn account or password to set up.

  • Keep a one-time signup separate from your regular inbox.
  • Receive a short verification message in a browser without creating a Tempburn account.
  • Use a real inbound address for a small test of a system you control.

When This Temporary Address Makes Sense

A burner address may fit a low-risk trial, a public forum signup, a one-time download, or a manual test message. Before using one, check whether the service permits temporary addresses and whether you will need access again.

For repeated testing, use an address and domain you control. Tempburn is not a bulk registration service or an automated account-creation tool.

Temporary Inbox vs. Email Aliases

An email alias usually forwards to an existing mailbox and remains useful while that mailbox and alias stay active. A burner inbox is a separate, short-lived place to read incoming mail. An alias can be easier to recover; a temporary inbox can keep a one-off message away from your main mailbox.

Choose the option that matches how long you need access. Tempburn cannot forward or recover messages after an inbox expires.

How to Use This Inbox

Copy the address above, use it only where a temporary inbox is allowed, then return to this page and select Check inbox. Open a message to read its plain-text contents or copy a possible verification code. Discard the inbox when your task is complete.

The address is created for this browser session. Clearing the browser cookie or switching devices can make it unavailable.

What to Know Before You Use It

Treat every temporary inbox as short-term and keep important accounts on an address you control. Do not use a burner inbox for banking, medical services, password resets, or account recovery. Do not rely on it for private or sensitive correspondence.

Tempburn displays plain text only. It does not automatically load remote images or open links from a message. The service is not end-to-end encrypted, and infrastructure providers process data to deliver it.

Questions About Burner Email

Do I need to sign up?

No. Tempburn creates a short-lived inbox for the current browser session. Keep this browser profile and its site data if you need to return to the inbox.

Can someone read my messages if they know the address?

Knowing the address alone does not provide access. Tempburn checks the browser session that created the inbox; anyone who can use that browser profile may also be able to read its messages.

How long does the inbox last?

A standard inbox expires eight days after creation. Messages expire with it, and you can discard the inbox sooner.

Can I protect this inbox with a password?

No password is needed — and none can be set. The inbox is already bound to the browser session that created it, so someone who knows the address still cannot read your mail. Keep this browser profile private and do not use Tempburn for sensitive or important accounts.

Will every website accept a temporary address?

No. A website may block temporary email or its sender may delay or reject a message. Tempburn cannot guarantee third-party acceptance or delivery.

Is it legal to use a burner email?

That depends on your location, what you do, and the other service’s rules. Use a temporary address only for lawful, low-risk tasks and follow the service’s terms.

Do temporary emails go to spam?

Tempburn does not have a separate spam folder. A message appears here only after it reaches and is processed by our inbound service. A sender may reject or delay mail to a temporary domain, and Tempburn cannot guarantee delivery.

Can I use a burner email for free trials?

Only if the service allows temporary addresses. Some providers block them, and you may need a lasting address for billing notices, cancellation, or account recovery. Use an address you control if you expect to keep the account.

Is a burner email the same as a temporary email?

People often use the terms interchangeably. “Burner” usually emphasizes one-off use, while “temporary” describes how long the address or inbox lasts.

What happens to my inbox after it expires?

A standard Tempburn inbox becomes unavailable after eight days. Online cleanup follows separately, and infrastructure providers may retain backup copies for their own recovery window. Expired messages cannot be recovered in Tempburn.

Can a website tell that this address is temporary?

Some services recognize temporary email domains and may block an address or decline to send a message. Follow each site’s rules; Tempburn does not guarantee that an address will be accepted.

How is this different from Gmail aliases?

A Gmail plus address such as name+tag@gmail.com helps sort mail in your existing Gmail inbox; other aliases may need to be configured. Tempburn creates a separate inbox that expires after eight days. Use a lasting address when you need account recovery or replies.
