Create or Resume an Inbox
Tempburn creates a standard inbox after you choose to generate one. Opening a page or loading its search content does not create an address. If this browser already has an active inbox, the service can restore it from the private session associated with this browser profile. You can continue using that address or discard it before asking for a replacement.
A new address is created by a request to the service. The selected address length affects only its local part; Tempburn chooses an available receiving domain. Creation can fail when the service is unavailable, a security check fails, or a limit is reached. A page that describes the process does not guarantee that a new inbox can be created at every moment.
Use Your Address
Copy the address and enter it only on a site that allows short-term inboxes. Keep the address available while you complete the task, then return to the same Tempburn browser profile. Tempburn receives messages; it does not send, reply to, or forward them. A third-party site decides whether it accepts the address and whether it will send a message to it.
For a page centered on generating an address on demand and showing request time, open temp email.

Read a Message
When an email reaches Tempburn’s inbound service, it is processed for display in the inbox. Choose Check inbox to request the latest state. The message list shows the sender, subject, received time and possible verification-code candidates. Candidates are extracted from message text to help you locate a code; check the actual message and confirm that the code is current before using it.
The reader displays plain text. It does not open attachments or automatically load remote images and links. A message can take time to arrive or process, and some senders may reject or delay delivery before it reaches Tempburn. If nothing appears, the service cannot confirm that a third-party sender attempted delivery unless the message reached its inbound system.
Delete or Let It Expire
A standard inbox becomes unavailable eight days after creation. Messages share the inbox expiry, so a message received near the end of that period can remain available for less than eight days. Use Discard earlier when you have finished. Discarding immediately revokes normal access and queues online cleanup; the operational cleanup target is fifteen minutes.
Access revocation and complete removal from every storage layer are different events. Provider backups may follow their own retention and recovery windows. Tempburn cannot restore an inbox after it has been discarded or expired. Keep a lasting address for services that may need to contact you later, and do not use this inbox for account recovery.
How Browser Access Works
The inbox is associated with a private browser session, represented by a cookie. Tempburn checks that session on the server before showing messages. Knowing the email address alone does not grant inbox access. Keep the same browser profile and its site data if you need to return; clearing site data or switching devices can remove your ability to access the inbox.
This session model is not a password-protected account and it is not end-to-end encryption. The service and infrastructure providers process message data to receive, store and display it. Do not put sensitive personal information, financial details, health records, passwords or recovery codes in a short-term inbox.
Service Limits
Tempburn is designed for short-term inbound messages. It does not provide an outbound mailbox, forwarding rules, attachment viewing, long-term account recovery, or a guarantee that a third-party site will accept an address. Capacity, size, rate and availability limits apply. A sender’s confirmation that it sent a message does not prove that Tempburn received or processed it.
Choose a mailbox or alias that you control when you need replies, durable access, purchase receipts, billing notices or password resets. Follow the rules of the service where you enter an address. A temporary inbox is not a way to bypass another site’s eligibility or account policies.
For Developers
You can use an inbox manually to check a small inbound-email flow in a system you control. Send a test message from an account you control, then inspect the received plain text. This is a human-operated check, not a bulk test harness or an address-generation API. Sample addresses used in examples are not active inboxes.
People looking for a disposable email API should know that Tempburn does not currently offer a supported developer API. The website uses browser-facing endpoints for its own inbox flow, not as a stable integration contract. For repeatable testing, use a mail service or domain configured for your own application and environment.
