Getting Started
Does Tempburn charge for inbox use?
The current service has no checkout or paid plan. Service availability, address capacity, size and rate limits still apply, and the service may change over time.
Can I choose which receiving domain gets assigned?
There is no domain picker in the current inbox. Tempburn assigns an address from a domain available for new inboxes. A site may still refuse that address under its own rules.
Can I create a second inbox without replacing the current one?
A browser session has one active standard inbox at a time. Choose New address and confirm the replacement if you want a different address; the current inbox will stop being accessible.
Receiving Messages
Can I send a test message to my Tempburn address?
Yes. Send a message from an email account you control, then return to Tempburn and select Check inbox. Tempburn receives the message but does not send it for you.
Why can a message remain in processing?
The inbound message has arrived but its text is still being prepared for the inbox. Keep the inbox open or check again shortly. If it remains stuck or processing fails, contact support with the page URL and approximate time. Do not send the message body or a verification code.
Will Tempburn notify me when a new message arrives?
Tempburn does not send push or email alerts. Keep the inbox page open to see its message status update, or return to the same browser and select Check inbox.
Access and Deletion
Can I view the same inbox in multiple tabs?
Tabs in the same browser profile use the same browser session and can show the current inbox. A browser session has one active standard inbox, so replacing or discarding it affects access from those tabs too.
What does Discard do before online cleanup finishes?
Discard immediately revokes normal access and queues online cleanup, which has a fifteen-minute operational target. Provider backups may follow a separate retention window, so access revocation does not mean every backup copy disappears at once.
Can I reopen an inbox after it has expired or been discarded?
No. Expired and discarded inboxes cannot be restored in Tempburn. Create a new address for a new task, and use an address you control for accounts or notices you may need later.
Privacy and Technical Limits
Are Tempburn messages end-to-end encrypted?
No. Tempburn is not an end-to-end encrypted email service. The service and infrastructure providers process message data to receive, store and display it. Do not use the inbox for sensitive or important information.
Does opening a message load its images or follow its links?
No. The reader shows plain text and does not automatically fetch remote images or open links from a message. You decide whether to copy or visit a link outside Tempburn.
Does Tempburn provide a public API?
Tempburn does not currently offer a supported developer API. The website uses browser-facing endpoints for its own inbox flow, not as a stable integration contract. For repeatable application testing, configure an email service and domain that you control.
