Create a Temp Email in One Step
A temp email address is useful when you need a real destination for one incoming message and do not want to create a long-term account. Choose an address length, select Generate, and Tempburn requests a standard inbox for this browser. You choose when to start; loading this guide does not create an address in the background.
The length control sets the number of characters before the at sign, within the range shown on the page. It changes the address format, not its retention period or delivery priority. A shorter or longer local part does not make an address more likely to be accepted by a website.
If the request succeeds, the address appears above the inbox controls and you can copy it into a signup form or another permitted task. If this browser already has an active inbox, Tempburn restores that inbox so you can continue using it. The existing address is not silently replaced. Use New address only after reviewing the confirmation that explains what will happen to the current inbox.
No Tempburn profile or password is required. The address is associated with a private browser session, so keep the same browser profile and its site data while you need access. A new address is still subject to service availability, security checks, domain capacity, and usage limits. If a request fails, the page reports the error instead of showing a made-up address or a speed result.
Understand Your Temp Email Creation Time
After an address is created, this page can show how long the successful creation request took in your browser. The timer starts immediately before the address request is sent and ends when the browser receives a successful response. It includes the network time for that request, so the value describes this interaction from this device and connection.
The timer does not include the time spent loading the page, checking for an existing inbox, starting a browser session, or completing a security check before the address request begins. It also does not measure message delivery, which depends on the sender and mail route. A result such as “0.84 s” describes this request only; it is not a global speed claim, an average, or a promise about the next request.
Network conditions change from one request to another. A wired desktop connection, a mobile connection and a busy service can produce different results. Use the displayed value to understand what happened in your current browser session, not to compare Tempburn with another provider or infer a service-wide percentile. The page does not run a benchmark or repeat requests in the background.
A failed request has no successful completion time to report. If the connection drops or the service cannot create an inbox, you can retry after checking the message on screen. When the browser finds an inbox that already exists, it restores that inbox rather than creating a new one, so it does not present the restore as a new creation result.
Use Your Temp Email Address
Copy the address and enter it only on a website that permits a short-term inbox. Keep the page open or return to the same browser profile to check for incoming mail. Tempburn can receive messages, but it cannot make another service accept the address or send a message to it. A website may apply its own account, eligibility, verification, or address rules.
When a message reaches Tempburn, select Check inbox to refresh the message list. Choose a message to read its plain-text contents. Possible verification codes are identified from the text to help you find them; review the surrounding message and confirm that a code is current before using it. The list can also show when a message is still being processed.
Use a lasting email address that you control for purchases, billing, password resets, recovery, or any account you expect to keep. A temp email inbox is a short-term convenience, not a replacement for an address that you can reliably access in the future. Follow the rules of each site where you use an address.
If you are comparing this on-demand flow with the already available burner email inbox, the homepage explains that experience.
Return to the Same Temp Email Inbox
An active inbox belongs to the browser session that created it. Returning with the same browser profile and its site data lets Tempburn check that session and restore the current address. The email address itself is not a sign-in credential, and a person who only knows the address cannot use it to open the inbox from another session.
Multiple tabs in the same browser profile can reach the current inbox because they share that session. There is one active standard inbox for the session: replacing it changes which address is current and makes the previous inbox unavailable. Review the confirmation before replacing an address, especially if a message is still waiting or you have not finished reading it.
Clearing this site’s cookies or browser data, using a private browsing window that has closed, or switching to another device can remove access. Tempburn does not provide a recovery password or a way to transfer an inbox between browser profiles. If you need continued access, stay in the original browser session until the task is complete.
A standard inbox remains available for up to eight days after it is created, unless you discard it first. Messages share the inbox expiry, which means a message received near the end can have a shorter reading window. Use Discard when you no longer need the address; do not leave an inbox active just because its maximum lifetime has not ended.
Why a Temp Email Creation or Delivery Can Take Longer
Address creation and message delivery are separate operations. Creating an inbox depends on the browser reaching Tempburn, passing the service’s creation checks, and receiving a successful response. A slow connection, unavailable service, security check, or temporary capacity limit can delay or prevent that request. The on-page timer reports only a completed creation request and does not convert a failure into a performance score.
After creation, a sender must deliver its message to the address. Some websites delay a verification message, reject temporary domains, or do not send after a form submission. Refreshing repeatedly cannot make a sender dispatch a message, and Tempburn cannot confirm an attempted delivery if the email never reached its inbound service.
If a task allows another attempt, first verify that you copied the full address and that you are viewing the inbox in the same browser session. Allow a short interval for the sender, then select Check inbox. Repeatedly requesting codes may trigger the website’s own limits. For an account you must keep, switch to an address or alias you control and follow the site’s instructions.
If a website explicitly refuses a temporary address, stop retrying the same form. Tempburn does not currently offer a domain selector, and there is no reliable way to promise that a different generated address will pass the website’s checks. Ask that website what address types it accepts, or use a lasting mailbox you control when you need a durable account.

Temp Email Questions
How is the displayed temp email time calculated?
It measures the successful address request from the moment the browser sends it until the browser receives the response. Earlier page loading and security checks are outside that interval, and message delivery is a separate process.
Does a fast address request mean a message will arrive just as fast?
No. The timer ends when the inbox is created. A sender controls when it sends a message, and delivery or processing can take longer or fail.
Can I use an inbox that is already active in this browser?
Yes. Tempburn restores the current inbox for this browser session. It does not count that restore as a new address request or show a new creation time.
Where can I read about one-time verification messages?
See the verification code guide for advice on checking a permitted signup message and discarding the inbox afterward.
